Why this site exists

Mortgage decisions are already complicated. A basic payoff comparison should not require an account, a sales call, or handing over loan details before seeing an answer. This site keeps the useful part in the foreground: enter a remaining balance, fixed rate, remaining term, and optional extra amount, then see the comparison immediately.

The calculator is built as an educational planning tool, not a lead-generation form. It is not a lender, mortgage broker, loan servicer, financial adviser, tax adviser, or law firm, and it is not affiliated with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Official consumer sources are linked so you can distinguish the calculator’s model from loan-specific rules.

What the calculation does

The model creates an original and accelerated principal-and-interest schedule month by month. It applies interest to the opening balance, credits scheduled principal, then credits the recurring extra amount and any selected lump sum. The comparison reports the estimated payoff date, total interest, time saved, and accelerated amortization schedule.

Real mortgage servicing can differ. Adjustable rates, daily-interest conventions, payment posting, escrow, fees, modifications, and prepayment terms are outside this V1 model. Your mortgage statement and a dated payoff quote from your servicer remain the controlling sources for an actual transaction.

Privacy is part of the product

The mortgage figures you type are processed in your browser for the current visit. The calculator does not require an account and does not upload those figures to a database. As with any website, the hosting and security infrastructure may process ordinary request information needed to deliver the page; the Privacy Policy explains that boundary in detail.
